Community Volunteers Respond To COVID-19 Needs
Across the Northfield community people are donating materials, pulling out their sewing machines, dusting off their sewing skills, washing fabric, and spending hours sewing! As the mask recommendations from the CDC rapidly change due to COVID-19, the Northfield community has responded by working together to collect donations and sew free masks for facilities and individuals throughout the community. In March, Kathy Ness organized the Northfield COVID Response Supply Depot at 19 Bridge Square, as a central donation site for mask making supplies. Since then the Supply Depot has expanded to include donations for sewing homemade isolation gowns due to shortages at Northfield facilities. Kildahl Park Pointe is one of many facilities who share their thanks saying, “We thank all the people involved in making & distributing the masks. Blessings on all of your work in keeping Northfield safe.” Thank you Northfield, for volunteering your resources, time, and energy to help keep our community safe and healthy.
