COVID-19 Community Updates

Keep in mind the following while you work to support community needs:

Honor the public health recommendations.  The best and most effective way to help is to stay home to help stop the spread of COVID-19.  Follow CDC guidelines: wear a mask, wash your hands, limit your exposure, and if you are not feeling well please stay home and take care of yourself.  Thanks to people who think like you, there will be plenty of volunteers to help when needed.

Practice Social Distancing.  If you are delivering supplies and/or food to a family or an organization, follow social distancing best practices.  Please call or text in advance to notify the recipient that you will be dropping off items on their front porch/by their door.  When you arrive, wear a mask, knock or ring the doorbell, and move at least six feet away from the door before the door is opened from the inside.

Look for opportunities that are limited in size or remote.  Organizations know the importance of the role they play in minimizing the spread of COVID-19.  If you are committed to volunteering with others, look for a group size of 10 or less, wear a mask, and keep your distance maintaining at least 6 feet between yourself and people from outside of your home unit.  Remember, even when you are volunteering in small groups or alone you are making a difference!

Please remember, by strictly following these best practices you will help keep our community safe and healthy.  Our community is stronger together, due to people like you who are making a difference every day.  Thank you!

COVID-19 Volunteer Opportunities

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, a variety of volunteer opportunities have arisen in our community.  Do you know how to sew?  Are you interested in supporting students who are learning virtually?  There are many ways for you to help support community needs while wearing a mask, washing/sanitizing your hands regularly,  maintaining a distance of at least six feet between yourself and others, and through virtual volunteer opportunities.  Check out the Volunteer Hub to help support community needs created by the pandemic.
